ADOT: Loop 202 Lindsay Road interchange making progress

The new Lindsay Road interchange will provide direct freeway access to the Gilbert’s central business district and new surrounding residential and commercial development. It also will improve traffic flow by widening Lindsay Road and reducing traffic congestion at the existing interchanges at Gilbert Road and Val Vista Drive. The completed project will also accommodate future general purpose lane widening of the Santan Freeway.

The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT), in partnership with the Town of Gilbert, is making progress on the new full diamond interchange on the Loop 202 Santan Freeway at Lindsay Road.

Highlights of the progress include:

  • The east- and westbound off-ramps have been completed.
  • The eastbound on-ramp has been paved and the barrier and curbing work are in the final stage of construction.
  • The westbound on-ramp wall has been back-filled and the roadway has been graded completely.
  • All of the retaining walls are completed.
  • Approximately 60 percent of the landscaping is completed.
  • Construction on the east end of the frontage road is underway. The new two-lane westbound frontage road will be located between Lindsay and Gilbert roads.

The project is scheduled to be completed late this summer.
