2024 Arizona Gives Day generates over $5M for nonprofits statewide

Annual event has now raised more than $47 million since 2013.

Arizona residents donated more than $5.3 million to almost 900 Arizona nonprofits as part of the 2024 Arizona Gives Day, preliminary results show.

With this year’s total, Arizona Gives Day has now generated more than $47 million for Arizona nonprofits over the past decade. The event, which is presented by AZ Impact for Good, also raised more than $5.3 million in 2023.

Arizona Gives Day team members were pleased with the giving levels this year considering a recent downward trend in charitable giving nationwide. This year’s result shows a steady level of commitment by Arizona residents to their communities.

More than 27,300 donations were made to 893 of the 1,033 participating nonprofits to bring the grand total raised since the event began in 2013 to $47,005,000. The average amount of money raised per organization was $2,734 with the average online donation at $157.28.

Also during the event, 1,268 volunteers pledged a total of 58,943 hours to their favorite non-profit organizations.

More than 1,000 nonprofits registered to be part of the annual day of giving. All registered nonprofits had an opportunity to win one of the 128 prizes totaling $180,000 as well, with results of those challenges being released in the coming days.

“This is a great showing for Arizona nonprofits and a sign of the incredible generosity of Arizona residents,” said Jennifer Purcell, chief impact officer for AZ Impact for Good. “After seeing a decline post-pandemic in charitable giving, it’s gratifying to see us match last year’s giving levels and it’s a trend we hope translates into even more nonprofit sector support in the future.”
