One Step Beyond: Gratitude beyond measure

We are in the "Giving Season," a pivotal part of the year for nonprofits, please consider supporting nonprofits that make a positive impact in our community. Your generosity can make a real difference creating a brighter future for those in need.

Nonprofit organizations are essential for the well-being and vitality of a community, and the Valley is no different. There are more than 17,000 nonprofits in the greater Phoenix metro area. They step up and meet the challenge when government services fall short.

As CEO of a nonprofit, I can tell you that community support, both financial and through active volunteerism, means everything. When the local community comes together to support nonprofits, it fosters a sense of unity and shared responsibility. When people consciously decide to support nonprofits, it impacts the individuals the nonprofits are committed to serving. These nonprofits understand the community's needs and ensure that resources are used efficiently and effectively.

Every year, my organization hosts our annual fundraising event, the One Step Beyond Help Us Grow (HUG) Gala. Reflecting on the recent event, I am humbled and grateful beyond words. Our event was a success, and the Valley community played a critical part in ensuring we can continue our mission to provide dynamic programs and services to individuals who have intellectual disabilities and their families so they may achieve their goals and become fully participating members of our community.

Every year, our fundraising event celebrates our remarkable journey with the incredible individuals we serve. It's an opportunity to reflect on our accomplishments and milestones together. However, it's also a time when we can envision the future, full of possibilities and endless potential.

The funds raised during this year’s event will profoundly impact our programs and initiatives. Because of the Valley’s support, we will continue to provide educational, vocational and recreational opportunities that empower our participants to reach their full potential. We will expand our horizons, reach even more individuals in need and create a more inclusive society.

I want to extend my most profound appreciation to the Valley community, our sponsors, donors, volunteers and everyone who made the One Step Beyond HUG Gala a resounding success. Your generosity and dedication to our mission is inspiring. Together, we are moving toward a brighter, more inclusive future. With your continued support, we can go far beyond what we can imagine. Together, we can make a difference that lasts a lifetime.

So whether you support One Step Beyond or one of the other worthy Valley area nonprofits, I thank you for your time and monetary support. It means nonprofit organizations can continue to do good and feel empowered to keep their missions going strong. We are in the "Giving Season," a pivotal part of the year for nonprofits, please consider supporting nonprofits that make a positive impact in our community. Your generosity can make a real difference creating a brighter future for those in need.
