Vestar, the largest privately held shopping center owner and manager in the western United States, announced that it is moving forward with Phase Two of the highly anticipated Queen Creek Crossing retail development where the town's first Costco is being built. The second phase will include the addition of Ashley Furniture (45,000 square feet), Hobby Lobby (55,000 square feet) and several restaurant and specialty shops in over 145,000 square feet of space.
“This is a significant step in our overall development strategy, and we are excited for Ashley Furniture, Hobby Lobby and many others to join Costco in Queen Creek Crossing,” said Jeff Axtell, executive vice president of Vestar. “Throughout the leasing process, we have been strategic to target tenants that fill voids within the community.”
Now under construction, the Queen Creek Crossing development encompasses 31 acres at the northwest corner of Ellsworth and Queen Creek roads. When fully developed it will feature over 400,000 square feet of retail space anchored by Costco, Ashley Furniture and Hobby Lobby. The development is currently over 80% leased with strong local, regional and national tenants including Black Rifle Coffee, Sleep Number, Smoothie King, Gallery Nails and Desert Financial Credit Union. Phase One of the project is expected to open in fall 2022 and Phase Two in fall 2023.
Queen Creek Crossing is one of four ground-up developments in the greater Phoenix area recently announced by Vestar.
