Salad & Go expands support of member food banks through national partnership with Feeding America

This Hunger Action Month, Salad and Go invites guests to play a pivotal role in supporting both national and local hunger relief efforts by raising $150,000.

September is Hunger Action Month and Salad and Go, in partnership with Feeding America (the largest hunger-relief organization in the United States) is aiming to raise $150,000 this month in an effort to provide 1.5 million meals to nourish local neighbors experiencing food insecurity.

Throughout the end of this month, Salad and Go guests have the chance to contribute to this cause via drive-thru or online donations. Through the active participation of Salad and Go’s valued guests, this collaborative effort will help to improve the lives of the 1 in 10 individuals experiencing food insecurity and hunger in the U.S.

“Every single person deserves nutritious food, not just to live, but to thrive. However, nearly 34 million people across the country are experiencing food insecurity,” said Lauren Biedron, senior vice president of corporate partnerships at Feeding America. “We’re thankful for partners like Salad and Go and their community, whose efforts this Hunger Action Month will be felt far beyond just the month of September.”

Established in 2013 in Gilbert, Salad and Go is an emerging QSR industry disruptor committed to revolutionizing fast food with a mission “to make fresh, nutritious food convenient and affordable for all.” In February, the company opened its newest location in San Tan Valley, at 1754 W. Hunt Highway.

Salad and Go’s commitment to health and wellness is demonstrated through the brand’s dedication to accessibility in providing unique opportunities for individuals to achieve their version of a healthy lifestyle. Salad and Go’s mission extends beyond its stores and into its communities through various philanthropic outreach and initiatives, including the Guest Give, Salad Donation and Healthy Habits programs.

“Throughout the entire year, our commitment to supporting those in need remains steadfast. During Hunger Action Month, this dedication takes on even more significance as we strive to make impactful contributions for Feeding America,” said Charlie Morrison, CEO of Salad and Go. “Access to fresh, nutritious food and resources is a fundamental right. At Salad and Go, our dedication to changing lives for the better drives us as we serve both our guests and communities.”

This year alone, Salad and Go’s Guest Give program has raised more than $185,000 to fight food insecurity. The Feeding America fundraiser boosts the Guest Give impact while spreading awareness about hunger in the U.S., supporting national Feeding America hunger-relief efforts, and distributing donations to local partner food banks where Salad and Go operates.

In addition to raising funds, the Salad and Go team will actively be volunteering in local food banks this September and October across Arizona, Texas, Oklahoma and Nevada.
