Prime IV Hydration & Wellness promotes new form of health in Queen Creek

They offer a long list of IV treatments, each one created to help improve your health in different ways.

Prime IV Hydration and Wellness, Queen Creek’s newest health and wellness headquarters, cut the ribbon on its latest location July 29 in the Queen Creek Marketplace. It marks Prime IV’s second location in Arizona, with the other in Scottsdale, and its 38th nationally. They also have about 60 more locations around the country coming soon, with three more expected to open in Arizona within the next year.

The owners of the Queen Creek location, Tom and Melanie Kasper, said after trying an IV treatment, opening up the business was a no-brainer. At Prime IV the main focus is to help people with a variety of issues get healthier. But, they said that many people are hesitant to try IV treatments because they don’t understand what they are.

“IV Hydration Therapy delivers fluids mixed with vitamins, minerals and antioxidants directly into the blood stream, bypassing the gastrointestinal tract. This enables the body to absorb almost 100% of the nutrients,” Prime IV’s website says.

IV treatment is often the quickest and most effective way to deliver fluids to your body. Prime IV has a variety of injections and IV treatments, each delivering different vitamins and nutrients to your body, each resulting in different effects.

“If you take vitamins right now, a lot of people do, the very maximum benefit you’ll get from your vitamin orally is about 15 to 20 percent max, most a lot less than that, and that’s because they have to go through the stomach, the stomach blocks and filters stuff out,” Tom Kasper said. “The beauty of an IV is very silently, very softly, we place a (needle) in your arm and then a bag drips in nutrients and vitamins.”

By having the nutrients drip straight into the bloodstream not only does the body absorb them much quicker, but it also absorbs a much higher percentage of the given vitamins and nutrients.

While the idea of having a needle in your arm for up to 45 minutes can push some people away, Prime IV does everything possible to make the customer’s experience as comfortable as possible. That starts with the nurses.

“These nurses, their goal is to educate on what vitamins are actually going into your body and in which way,” Melanie Kasper said. All the nurses at Prime IV have or still do work in hospitals, some part time, and they’re extremely skilled and well-trained not only in terms of administering the IV treatment but also in guiding the customer through the process from education to comfort.

At Friday’s ribbon cutting, Tom Kasper highlighted the “exquisitely comfortable full-body massage chairs,” which patients can relax in during the 45 or so minutes it takes the IV drip to finish.

At Prime IV they offer a long list of IV treatments, each one created to help improve your health in different ways. Athletes will come in before games for an energy boost and come in after games for muscle recovery. People experiencing altitude sickness can come in to help with headaches, dizziness and fatigue. And, of course, when someone has had a little too much to drink the night before they can come in and rehydrate their body while also eliminating any headaches, nausea or pain.

“We had a guy come in up at a different spa, he was so sunburned, absolutely bright red, just in horrible pain. He comes in and gets ‘The After Burn’ and 45 minutes later he walks out significantly paler. There were immediate results and he felt, you know, 1,000 percent better,” Kasper said.

The most basic treatment Prime IV has is the injection, which is a vitamin coming through a shot-like needle. They offer 12 various injections and different injections can improve issues with sleep, energy, weight loss, your immune system and more.

The next level up is the Primary IV Treatment. The four Primary Treatments are a B-12 energy boost, an amino acid blend to help with muscle recovery, B-6 to help with heart health and magnesium for anti-inflammation. One of these drips is equivalent to drinking about 2.5 gallons of water.

The next level up is where most people find their favorite treatment, Kasper said. Prime IV’s top-level treatments are each tailor-made to target a specific issue in the body. Along with “The After Burn,” which helps with sun exposure, they have treatments such as “The Jetsetter,” which helps with symptoms of jet lag, or “The Glow,” which is an anti-aging drip.

“Ladies love (‘The Myers’ Cocktail’) because its got lots of biotin and is anti-aging. They're all good, but they're all specialized for what you want to have happen. People come in and have bad migraines, so we have a special treatment for people with migraines. Athletes do ‘The Champion’ or ‘The Weekend Warrior.’ We have athletes come and prepare for an event two days before the event, say ‘I’m going to get the drip.’ (They see) significant results, significant improvement,” Kasper said.
