PIEfection coming to Queen Creek in August

Owner Cheryl Standage first learned the fine art of pie baking, honing her skills on her "Grandma's Pear Pineapple" pie. After a successful career in corporate America, Standage decided to follow her dream back to her roots and opened her fist location in Mesa, where she's from.

PIEfection, a gourmet pie bakery that specializes in handcrafted gourmet pies, has announced they'll open a new location this August in Queen Creek across from Costco, next to Drizzle Donuts, at the northeast corner of Ellsworth and Queen Creek roads.

Owner Cheryl Standage first learned the fine art of pie baking, honing her skills on her "Grandma's Pear Pineapple" pie. After a successful career in corporate America, Standage decided to follow her dream back to her roots and opened her fist location in Mesa, where she's from.

After her successful career as a vice president with World Savings and Wachovia, Standage took those skills and simply parlayed them into what she loves to do best, baking delectable desserts. Standage said that she felt her true passion was being pushed to the back burner, so the lifelong foodie took her penchant for top quality control and management and created her first PIEfection Pie Shop in 2012 in her hometown of Mesa.

"Of all the customers that come to our Mesa location and request a PIEfection in their town, Queen Creek is the number one requested city and we have been looking for a new location for two years. Now we're excited to announce we're coming (to Queen Creek) in August 2023," confirmed Standage.

The company that claims its pies are made by sourcing ingredients such as Belgian chocolate, Georgia peaches, Michigan cherries and wild blueberries from Maine, just opened a Chandler location on May 12 to much fanfare.

"I've gone to Cheryl Standage's store in Mesa on a number of occasions and can personally attest to the high quality and delicious flavor of the pies," added Queen Creek Vice Mayor Jeff Brown.
