Nothing Bundt Cakes opened its doors yesterday, ready to "Bring the Joy" to Queen Creek.
"After opening our bakery doors on Monday our team quickly found themselves serving a lobby full of our Queen Creek neighbors, who are super excited that Nothing Bundt Cakes is finally in town," said Jan Newton, owner of Nothing Bundt Cakes in Queen Creek and Gilbert. "We’re absolutely thrilled to be baking in Queen Creek! Residents and businesses in Queen Creek have been loyal guests at our Gilbert/Mesa bakery for years and it was time that we fully served them by establishing a bakery in this vibrant and growing area."
Queen Creek Vice Mayor Jeff Brown was one of the first customers yesterday, posting pictures on his Facebook page declaring, "Nothing Bundt Cakes - Queen Creek is now open!"
Newton was so impressed with Queen Creek when shopping for a place to locate her second Valley bakery that she's now getting ready to become a town resident.
"My husband, Mark, and I are so smitten with Queen Creek that we sold our northeast Mesa home and are building a house in Queen Creek’s Encanterra neighborhood," she said.
While many retail businesses are still having a difficult time filling positions since the pandemic, Newton said her new Nothing Bundt Cakes Queen Creek location "literally received hundreds of job applications for team member positions" over the summer.
"The quality of these applicants is astounding. To use just a few words to describe our QC residents: eager, happy, motivated, exceptional," she said last month. "When Maegan Guseman (store manager) and Shawn Strunk (co-owner) receive homemade cookies from a job applicant in an interview, you know your next bakery home is certainly in the right place."
The Nothing Bundt Cakes bakery is located at 20952 S. Ellsworth Loop Road, Suite E-1, in the Queen Creek Marketplace, directly behind the In-N-Out Burger drive-thru, next to a new Pilates reformer studio, north of PetSmart and Mountainside Fitness. Reach them at 480-616-2536.
"It has a lovely courtyard and is situated perfectly for convenient curbside pickups. It's loaded with windows so our gift lobby will be bright and cheerful," Newton said earlier this summer, adding that her Nothing Bundt Cakes "Joy Givers" are happy to be in Queen Creek.
