Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. expands at Gateway Airport

"I was honored to wield a ceremonial shovel to break ground on Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation's 225,000-square-foot, $70 million 'sustainable aircraft service center' at Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport," Queen Creek Vice Mayor Jeff Brown said after the May 17 ground breaking.

May 17 was a banner day for Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport, according to Ryan Smith, director of communications and government relations at Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport Authority (PMGAA).

The PMGAA Board of Directors (includes Queen Creek mayor) approved a long-term land lease with Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation for a 225,000-square-foot West Coast Service Center. Gulfstream has been operating at the airport since earlier this year, but will begin construction on their new facility this month.

"This is a huge win for Gateway Airport and greater Phoenix," Smith noted.

Queen Creek Vice Mayor Jeff Brown wrote on Facebook May 17, "More Living Wage JOBS coming to the area!"

"I was honored to wield a ceremonial shovel to break ground on Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation's 225,000-square-foot, $70 million 'sustainable aircraft service center' at Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport," Brown said after the May 17 ground breaking. "The new facility will include hangar space, back shops and employee and customer offices. Shooting for LEED Silver certification, Gulfstream is designing the facility with sustainable operations in mind such as a fuel farm with a dedicated sustainable aviation fuel supply, low-flow plumbing fixtures, LED lighting; building management systems and an energy-efficient HVAC system."
