Badlands Bar & Grill has announced its moving into the old Lone Spur Cafe, formerly the Queen Creek Cafe, at the southwest corner of Ellsworth and Ocotillo roads in Queen Creek.
"We live in the Town of Queen Creek and we have recently signed a restaurant lease for Lone Spur Cafe, previously known as the Queen Creek Cafe. We are family owned and operated and have another location in Tempe," said resident Kayla Lardakis, who owns Badlands Bar & Grill with her husband, Peter. "We are super excited about being in the neighborhood. There's a few months of work to be done, but we are projecting to open in August or September. We can't wait to become a staple in the neighborhood."
Their second Badlands Bar & Grill location will be at 22002 S. Ellsworth Road in Queen Creek. They currently offer a brunch from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, and are open from 10 a.m. to midnight Monday through Friday, and from 8 a.m. to midnight Saturday through Sunday. The kitchen closes every day at 10 p.m. in Tempe.
"Laugh Loud & Carry a Big Glass!" is their restaurant motto. Their website says: "Here at Badlands, we pride ourselves on operating as a family and treating every guest that walks in the door as one of our own. You will never leave here hungry because everything is bigger at Badlands, and we always use the best quality ingredients possible! Welcome to the family!"
Before the pandemic, the couple opened their Dakota 94 restaurant in May 2019 in Chicago and decided they "wanted to bring some of Chicago to Arizona" when they opened their Tempe location in 2021, in the middle of the pandemic.
