QCPD: Desert Lily Academy in Queen Creek honors officer with Outstanding Community Partner Award

The goal of the project was to foster trust and partnership between the Queen Creek Police Department and Desert Lily Academy. Through innovative program elements and a model designed to address the unique needs of young women, the local academy helps youth build bright and meaningful futures for themselves and their community.

The Queen Creek Police Department (QCPD) announced that Officer Rounds was honored with the Outstanding Community Partner Award from Desert Lily Academy in Queen Creek, where she recently spearheaded a mural project with a local artist. The goal of the project was to foster trust and partnership between QCPD and the local academy.

“Thank you Officer Rounds for your dedication to building bridges and making a positive difference,” QCPD posted on Facebook.

Desert Lily Academy (DLA) is a local residential treatment program providing female-specific programming in a normalized, trauma-informed setting that promotes learning, growth and positive change. DLA offers an eclectic blend of academic, vocational and extracurricular opportunities.

Through innovative program elements and a model designed to address the unique needs of young women, DLA helps youth build bright and meaningful futures for themselves and their community.

Desert Lily Academy is located in Queen Creek at 20395 E. Rittenhouse Road.
