Queen Creek celebrates National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week

Telecommunications staff are the first point of contact when an individual calls 9-1-1 or the non-emergency number. They are essential in gathering the relevant information and prioritizing the call. As National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week comes to a close, the Town of Queen Creek is highlighting the professionals who handle public safety telecommunications or dispatch services.

The Town of Queen Creek contracts with the City of Mesa to provide telecommunications on behalf of Queen Creek Fire and Medical and the Queen Creek Police Department.

“Do you ever wonder who is on the other end of the line when you call 911? This week is a time founded to celebrate and honor telecommunication personnel that have dedicated their lives to public safety. QCPD is blessed to have skilled and knowledgeable professionals that support our community and our officers out in the field,” said Queen Creek Police Chief Randy Brice.

“These dispatchers require compassion, patience, and mental toughness. The Queen Creek Fire & Medical Department is very grateful to the men and women who support us through these calls,” added QCFMD Chief Vance Gray.
