QCFMD prepares for water rescues during monsoon season

As some training days require these firefighters to get their feet wet, flash floods are a real threat during the Arizona Monsoon. With two washes in Queen Creek, flood waters can rise and flow downstream quickly and QCFMD firefighters are prepared to make a rescue if the need arises.

The Queen Creek Fire and Medical Department (QCFMD) is always in training when they're not responding to calls out in the community.

Monsoon 2022 has hit the Queen Creek area hard so it's no surprise that a recent training day was all about water rescue for local firefighters.

As some training days require these firefighters to get their feet wet, flash floods are a real threat during the Arizona monsoon season. With two washes in Queen Creek, flood waters can rise and flow downstream quickly and QCFMD firefighters are prepared to make a rescue if the need arises.

QCFMD asks residents to never forget the power of water. If you see someone fall into a fast-flowing waterway, call 911 immediately, they said.
