Joyce Arleen Elwert

Posted

Joyce Arleen Elwert of Mesa, AZ, was born Feb. 10, 1954 in Detroit, MI to Marvin and Dolores Misiak. Joyce passed shockingly from this earth on Oct. 20, 2024 due to sudden illness caused by a fall.

She is survived by the love of her life & beloved husband of 50-plus years, Keith Elwert, who mourns his better half so, so much.

She is also survived by her loving siblings: Elaine Stewart (Tom), Joann Kotula, Karen Meyers (Mike), James Misiak (Stephanie), plus many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews whom she cared for very much. Also many friends both here in AZ and in her native Michigan.

She spent most of her working life in insurance, with several “no brainer” jobs in retail during post-retirement.

Our dear Joyce moved to AZ in 2016 to enjoy sun and fun, golf, walks in the morning, pool weather and no snow. She was a frequent visitor to local casinos and Vegas. She was also about the luckiest slot player that most of us know. She was a woman of perhaps small stature, but had the heart and will of a giant. We will miss her greatly.

Donations to her favorite charities: St. Jude’s’ Children’s and Boy’s Town
