A LIFE WELL LIVED…Don was born in Haskell, Oklahoma, to Tedford and Beatrice Wilson. Don had three brothers, Charles LaVern, Clyde, and David who preceded him in death.  Don spent many years in California.  He was a minister of the Church of Christ. He married his sweetheart, JoAnn McCarley, in California in 1952,  They loved serving the Lord over 60 years.

Don did missionary work, going over 20 years to the Philippines, including trips to Mexico and San Salvador.  They had three wonderful children; JoEllen Wilson Thornhill, Susan Kimberly Wilson Lovett, and Donald Ray Wilson II.  They had another son, Michael Hudson, who they had legal guardianship of, and who died in Viet Nam.  Don and his wife sent many children in the Philippines to school and helped raise JoAnn’s siblings.  He married Lora Davenport Wilson in 2013. She adored him and felt he was the best “Sermonator” she had ever heard (A nickname from his daughter, Jo).  He was the love of Lora’s life.  Don was a treasure to all who knew him, so kind and gentle with a golden voice like honey melted over thunder.

As a husband, he was loving and caring to both JoAnn and Lora, serving them in any way they needed. Don and Lora had the time of their lives serving the Lord and traveling the world together. Lora was honored to get to know his children and he accepted Lora’s family as his own. He will be cherished in the hearts of Lora and all of the family.  We look forward to seeing him again in our Heavenly Home.

He is survived by his wife, Lora Davenport Wilson, children, Jo Ellen, Susan, Don, Pamela, Anna, Brian. Grandchildren, Jonathan, David, Sabrina, Paul, Alexander, Montana, Caleb Joshua, Megan, Kaitlin, and Curtis, Daven, Joshua, Caleb Richard, Colby, McKinzie, Sarah, and Shelby.
