One of the main goals of field trips is to make connections between what students have learned in the classroom and what they experience on the field trip.

From graduations to awards and achievements, these are some of the district’s accomplishments for the 2023-2024 school year we're most proud of.

Queen Creek resident Ros Nideffer, captain of the Women’s 55 and Over team, won the Maureen Connolly Cup with teammates Debbie Nasim of Cardiff, Calif.; Judy Newman of Santa Cruz, Calif.; and Julie Cass of Austin, Texas. The tournament is the tennis equivalent of the Davis Cup and Billie Jean King Cup competitions, with top American tennis players representing their country in the 50-, 55- and 60-and-over age groups.

The Queen Creek Unified School District, J. O. Combs Unified School District and Higley Unified School District are offering an exciting array of summer programs and camps tailored for students seeking enriching activities during their summer break.

As we observe Mental Health Awareness Month, it’s critical that we remember these statistics are more than just numbers — they represent the lives of real children. This issue is even more pressing when you consider summer break is here, during which many of these students will lose the vital support their schools provide. That is why summer school programs are key to addressing this challenge.

Program aims to meet the urgent need for licensed practitioners.

Today, suicide is the second most common cause of death for teens. In fact, according to the Center for Disease Control, one young person dies by suicide every 11 minutes and 17% of all high school students seriously consider suicide. These facts make "Ending the Silence" an even more important program for schools across Arizona. 

I support this override and ask the community to do the same. I ask them to keep a wary eye on how these dollars are used, hold the district accountable and ensure we are putting our students first.
