The Good Life Festival is dubbed "a complete lifestyle destination experience with favorite national and local acts on an outdoor stage and a variety of experiences." Patrons will enjoy pre-concert wine, craft beer and bourbon tastings, along with a local food and boutique marketplace.

This Chihuahua came to Friends for Life Animal Rescue when his previous owner could no longer care for him due to a terminal illness. He's about 6 years old and weighs about 10 to 12 pounds.

Members of the Roots N' Boots crew used the annual event as a teaching moment when they visited Silver Valley Elementary School in the Queen Creek Unified School District on Feb. 28. They taught the students what a rodeo is and about the life of a cowboy, as well as showing them the tools of a rancher and how they are part of Queen Creek's agricultural history.

"Recently, we did a fundraiser to put a cover over Arena 3 at the park and that's a big deal because it opens up the opportunity for the park to bring in more equestrian events," said Rich Robertson, vice president and member of the board of directors of Friends of Horseshoe Park. "So the park benefits from that financially. Also, residents and the town benefit from it because it's quite a focal point to have an equestrian center like that."

While the event features Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association performances, Friends of Horseshoe Park stresses that it's "more than a rodeo."

"This festival will give us an opportunity to ease our incoming orchestra students into new and higher expectations in a fun and inviting way," said Volker Moulding, orchestra teacher at Eastmark High School.
