Members of the Roots N' Boots crew used the annual event as a teaching moment when they visited Silver Valley Elementary School in the Queen Creek Unified School District on Feb. 28. They taught the students what a rodeo is and about the life of a cowboy, as well as showing them the tools of a rancher and how they are part of Queen Creek's agricultural history.

Queen Creek's Horseshoe Park & Equestrian Centre is unique, offers something for everyone

"Recently, we did a fundraiser to put a cover over Arena 3 at the park and that's a big deal because it opens up the opportunity for the park to bring in more equestrian events," said Rich Robertson, vice president and member of the board of directors of Friends of Horseshoe Park. "So the park benefits from that financially. Also, residents and the town benefit from it because it's quite a focal point to have an equestrian center like that."
