This year’s Thanksgiving Bake Sale menu features 29 items, including new treats such as Pumpkin Chai Pie and Gingerbread Blondies. On the savory side, the students will also be selling sweet potato casserole, cranberry relish and turkey stock.

In an effort to increase safety for responders, motorists will see traffic safety messages on overhead message boards that remind drivers of Arizona’s “Move Over” law, which requires motorists to move over one lane – or slow down if it’s not safe to change lanes – when approaching any vehicle with flashing lights pulled to the side of a road or highway. This includes passenger vehicles flashing hazard lights.

While most parks and recreation industry agencies celebrate National Parks and Recreation Month throughout July and encourage park visitors to hit the trails, Maricopa County’s Parks and Recreation Department does not due to the heat. However, when the department discovered National Take a Hike Day, which occurs on Nov. 17, they quickly embraced it and decided to celebrate this day annually.
