Friend of the Week: My Boyfriend is seeking his special person

My Boyfriend has a nice level of energy and loves to go for walks. His favorite pastime is to roll in the grass. He is very affectionate and loves to park himself on your lap and get those belly rubs.

Some Friends for Life Animal Rescue dogs need very exceptional adopters that are willing to open their homes and hearts to dogs with special needs. My Boyfriend is looking for that special person. My Boyfriend is a 10-year-old Chihuahua that came to Friends for Life from Maricopa County Animal Control when he was turned in as a stray. Volunteers fell in love with this guy’s snaggle tooth smile and knew he couldn’t be left behind.

This little man has been through a lot. Upon intake, he was immediately taken to the veterinarian and was told he needed to see a heart specialist. The cardiologist delivered some difficult news. He was diagnosed with stage 2 heart disease and he is probably going to be in heart failure within the next year. He has one oral-nasal fistula (a hole in his mouth that goes to the nasal area) and his other canine is loose and probably has a fistula starting on that one. With his heart condition, dental surgery is not an option. He currently is on two different medications to help him with his heart disease. However, despite all of these ailments, it does not seem to slow this guy down. My Boyfriend has a nice level of energy and loves to go for walks. His favorite pastime is to roll in the grass. He is very affectionate and loves to park himself on your lap and get those belly rubs.

My Boyfriend is living in a foster home with a few other small dogs and he is loving life. My Boyfriend is neutered, licensed, vaccinated and microchipped. His adoption fee is $75.

If you think you are the one that can offer this guy a safe place to land to spend the balance of his life, please email Erica@azfriends.org or come and see Friends for Life, located at 952 Melody Ave. in Gilbert. Find more information by visiting them online at www.azfriends.org.
