Chosen Warrior Cancer Support Foundation hosting kick-off fundraiser Jan. 28 in Queen Creek

The goal is to help raise awareness about the newly-formed nonprofit’s mission to support those who have been or who are impacted by cancer.

A new nonprofit in town, Chosen Warrior Cancer Support Foundation, is kicking off its 2023 Better Health Campaign in Queen Creek this Saturday, Jan. 28 by hosting a “Chocolate & Cocktails” celebration. The event will include brunch, a chocolate fountain and dessert bar, live entertainment, raffle and silent auction.

The goal is to help raise awareness about the foundation’s mission to support those who have been or who are impacted by cancer.

Resident Michelle Tucker, founder of the Chosen Warrior Cancer Support Foundation, will be sharing her story of survival, determination, passion and love during her journey with cancer. A three-time cancer survivor, her mission now is to be a blessing to others with cancer by developing the 501(c)(3) nonprofit foundation based in Queen Creek.

Tucker first faced cancer at the young age of 19 and has dedicated her life to making a difference for others.

“Chosen Warrior Cancer Support Foundation’s mission is to make the maximum positive effort for our community by instilling compassion, courage and hope," Tucker explained. "We are dedicated to making a difference for those who have been touched by cancer. Families, friends and support systems in the community are vitally important to those who are fighting for their lives. Our mission is to lift them up by sharing experiences and knowledge, and by giving support and inspiration to those of all ages facing this battle.”

The public is invited to this private event from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Bar Vinedo in Queen Creek, located at 7215 S. Power Road.

This event will feature a brunch buffet by Chef Ryan of Bar Vinedo, a chocolate dessert buffet and specialty cocktails (sold separately), along with live music by Guillaume Alvin and a raffle, with prizes from local businesses including The Pork Shop, True Nature Art, Vintage Sisters and many more, said San Tan Valley resident Bridgette Crosby, spokesperson for the Chosen Warrior Cancer Support Foundation.

Tickets are $25 and may be purchased HERE or by calling Crosby at 480-235-8388. Donations are also welcomed. Tickets will also be sold at the door.

The group will also be hosting its first ever Chosen Warrior Health Walk in Queen Creek at Schnepf Farms from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, March 18. Walkers, volunteers and sponsors are welcomed and tickets are $25 and required.

"We will be challenging the community to make a commitment to walk at least 30 minutes every day for the rest of the year and to make healthy choices when eating, which includes healthy mantra of ‘Enjoy with Moderation,'" said Crosby.
