Funding from the Lowe’s Foundation will enhance skilled trades programming at three of the district's colleges, including Mesa Community College.

It's a hybrid introduction to an array of career and technical education (CTE) pathways that ignited the passions of local middle schoolers. By bridging middle school curiosity with high school opportunities, the program prepares students for future careers while broadening their perspectives.

Link Crew is a club that helps new students learn the ins and outs of the Queen Creek campus and brings excitement for the new school year, which began on July 22. Link Crew helps makes the transition from junior high to high school easier as they help answer questions, find classrooms, and be a familiar face for incoming freshmen.

New teacher orientation brought in seasoned and new teachers that are all eager to make a positive impact on their students and the community. As QCUSD continues to grow, the district continues to provide an environment for both students and teachers to excel.

The All-State, All-American won his heat and took sixth nationally in the 800 meters at this year's Nike Outdoor Nationals and USA Track & Field U20 Outdoor Championships last month at the University of Oregon's Hayward Field in Eugene, where he turned in a personal best time of 1:51.30 in his heat of the GARMIN 800-meter championship. That time has the high school senior track and field athlete getting closer to making state history for the 800 meters.

Queen Creek Heat fielded three strong teams across Arizona in the Little League State Championship. The All Star Minors won first place in their division as they dominated in Cottonwood with an undefeated tournament, shutting out teams in every game except one. The All Star JR Majors shined and brought home second place after a grueling five days in Bullhead City, where game time temperatures reached 120 degrees. The All Star Seniors played strong and placed third in their tournament in Tucson.

The scholarship program includes Community Service Scholarships for high school seniors who volunteer in their communities and Adult Learners Scholarships for adults 25 or older who are pursuing certificates or degrees. Nearly 250 Arizona students applied this year for the 60 available scholarships. 

Through partnerships with nonprofits, volunteers, businesses and educational organizations, we have accomplished countless joint efforts that benefit both students and the community.
